When they cannot visit a temple or don't have enough time most Thai people have a small shrine in front of their house for themselves, but also for travelers who want to pray for a save passage . They bring little offerings like fruit, drinks or flowers and leave them after they are done praying. This results in a lot of different types of shrines you can see when traveling threw the country. Some shrines are big and majestic, some are small and very sober and some seem to be there for centuries.
